Let salmon sit on counter for 10-15 minutes before searing.

Place salmon skin side down, over medium high heat. Sear for 4-5 minutes, until golden. Flip salmon carefully and sear the other side until golden, internal temperature should be about 135°F for medium rare. Don't overcook.
